What are Organizations?

Organizations are communities where professionals and companies gather on FairArena. Think of them as your digital workplace or professional hub where teams, projects, and collaboration happen. Whether you're part of a company, open-source community, or professional group, organizations provide the structure for collaborative work.

Finding Organizations

Browse Organizations

You can discover organizations in several ways:

Explore Page

  • Visit the Organizations section from your dashboard
  • Browse all available organizations
  • Filter by public organizations
  • See organization descriptions and member counts

Search

  • Use the search feature to find specific organizations
  • Search by organization name
  • Find organizations by industry or interest

Public vs Private

  • Public Organizations: Visible to everyone and easier to join
  • Private Organizations: More exclusive, require invitation or approval

Joining an Organization

There are several ways to become part of an organization:

Open Join Organizations

Some organizations allow anyone to join:

  1. Find the organization you want to join
  2. Click on the organization to view its profile
  3. Look for the Join button
  4. Click Join and you're in! 🎉

Organizations with "Join Enabled" allow instant access without approval.

Invitation-Based Organizations

Most organizations work on an invite system:

Receiving an Invite

  1. An organization member sends you an invite code
  2. You'll receive the invite via email
  3. Click the link in the email to accept
  4. Choose your role (if multiple options are available)
  5. Welcome to the organization!

Invite Codes

  • Each invite code is unique and secure
  • Codes can have expiration dates
  • Codes may be role-specific
  • Codes are single-use (can't be shared)

Request Access

For closed organizations:

  1. Visit the organization's profile
  2. Click Request Access (if available)
  3. Wait for an organization admin to review your request
  4. You'll receive a notification when approved

Creating an Organization

If you want to start your own organization:

Plan Your Organization

Decide on the purpose, structure, and goals of your organization.

Create Organization

Navigate to the Organizations section and click Create Organization.

Set Basic Details

  • Organization Name: Choose a clear, memorable name
  • Slug: This becomes part of your organization's URL
  • Description: Explain what your organization does
  • Logo: Upload a recognizable logo (optional)

Configure Settings

  • Set visibility (Public or Private)
  • Enable or disable open joining
  • Set your timezone

How to Follow

  1. Visit any public organization
  2. Click the Follow button
  3. You'll now see their updates
  4. Unfollow anytime by clicking Unfollow

Yes, but you'll need a new invitation or the organization must have open joining enabled.

There's no hard limit on organization membership. Organizations can scale based on your needs.
