Creation Steps

Go to OrganizationsCreate Organization

Set Basic Information

Organization Name

  • Clear and memorable
  • Represents your organization well
  • Example: "Acme Corp", "React Developers"

Slug

  • URL-friendly identifier
  • Auto-generated from name
  • Can be customized
  • Example: "acme-corp", "react-devs"

Write Description

Create a compelling description:

  • What your organization does
  • Who should join
  • What to expect
  • Main goals and values

Example:

Acme Corp is a leading software development company specializing in 
cloud solutions. We build scalable applications using modern technologies 
and welcome developers passionate about innovation.

Upload Branding

Logo

  • Recommended size: 200x200px
  • Formats: PNG, JPG, SVG
  • Appears on profile and in listings

Banner

  • Recommended size: 1200x400px
  • Creates visual impact
  • Appears on organization page

Configure Settings

Visibility Settings:

To Follow:

  1. Visit organization profile
  2. Click Follow button
  3. Receive updates on your dashboard
  4. Unfollow anytime

Following is different from joining. Followers get updates but don't have member access.

Starring Organizations

Show appreciation:

  • Click the ⭐ Star button
  • One-time recognition
  • Appears on organization profile
  • Helps others discover quality orgs
  • Can unstar anytime

When to star:

  • Organization you find valuable
  • Quality projects and community
  • Impressive work
  • Good practices

Organization Audit Logs

Track important events (Admin/Owner only):

Logged Events:

  • Member additions/removals
  • Role changes
  • Settings updates
  • Team creation/deletion
  • Project changes
  • Security events

Log Details:

  • Who performed the action
  • What changed
  • When it happened
  • Additional metadata

Access logs: Settings → Audit Logs → View History

Managing Your Organization

Member Management

Adding Members:

  1. Go to Organization Settings
  2. Click MembersInvite
  3. Enter email addresses (one per line)
  4. Select role for invitees
  5. Add personal message (optional)
  6. Click Send Invitations

Recipients receive email with join link.

  1. Go to Organization Settings
  2. Click Invite CodesCreate
  3. Select role for code
  4. Set expiration date
  5. Optional: Specify email
  6. Click Generate Code
  7. Share code with invitee

Code can be used once before expiring.

  1. Go to Organization Settings
  2. Enable Open Join
  3. Set default role for new members
  4. Save settings

Anyone can now join instantly!

Removing Members:

  1. Go to Members list
  2. Find the member
  3. Click options menu (⋯)
  4. Select Remove from Organization
  5. Confirm removal

Removing a member also removes them from all teams and projects within the organization.

Changing Member Roles:

  1. Navigate to Members
  2. Find the member
  3. Click Change Role
  4. Select new role
  5. Confirm change

Creating Custom Roles:

  2. Click Create Role
  3. Name the role
  4. Select permissions:

Highest level of control

Can:

  • ✅ Delete the organization
  • ✅ Transfer ownership
  • ✅ Manage all settings
  • ✅ Add/remove members (including admins)
  • ✅ Assign any role

  • ✅ Everything admins can do

Limits:

  • Only one owner per organization
  • Can transfer to another member

Best for: Founders, CEO

High level of control

Can:
